Taylor Peckham is a born-and-raised San Diegan who spent over a decade working professionally as a music director, conductor, pianist, and arranger across regional theatre, national tours, international productions, and on Broadway. He was trusted as the music director of a major national tour at just 24 years old, and by 26 was conducting his own Broadway show — a trajectory that speaks not only to his exceptional musicianship, but to the kind of instinct, authority, and artistic intelligence that the industry recognizes fast.

Now home in San Diego, Taylor brings that depth of real-world experience into the teaching studio and the audition room. At NC Studios, he offers private piano instruction for students of all ages and levels, as well as specialized coursework in sight-singing, sight-reading, and music theory. He also works directly with performers as an audition material consultant — helping singers choose the right material, understand what music directors and casting teams are actually listening for, and walk into every room prepared, polished, and confident.

Taylor has sat at the piano for hundreds of auditions — including casting processes alongside Tara Rubin and Bernie Telsey. He knows firsthand what those rooms feel like, what the people behind the table are listening for, and what separates a good audition from an unforgettable one. That perspective — from the other side of the table, at the highest level of the industry — is rare. And it is exactly what he brings to every student and performer he works with.

His teaching philosophy is simple: every student deserves instruction that is honest, rigorous, and built entirely around them. Musical literacy is not a gift some people are born with — it is a skill that can be taught, learned, and owned. Whether you're learning your first scale or preparing the audition of your career, his work is designed to get you there.
